Code of Professional Conduct and Practice for Teachers of Dance

The Code of Professional Conduct and Practice for Teachers of Dance has been drawn up by the Council in consultation with its member dance awarding bodies. All teachers appearing in the UK Directory of Registered Dance Teachers and the Database of Dance Teachers are committed to adhering to its principles.

Learning and Skills Council Guides (D&DA and funding)

These three guides contain information concerning the Dance and Drama Awards, a limited number of which are offered annually by the Learning and Skills Council for talented students training at approved dance and drama schools.

Students who are offered Awards will have to make a contribution to their fees. The rate for 2008-2009 has been set at £1,250 per year. Students who cannot afford the £1,250 or who need further financial assistance for living and learning costs may be eligible for additional funding from a means-tested FE fund – for more information see:
